The Illinois Life Span Program of the Arc of Illinois continues their Lunchtime Webinars with “Helping People Design Full and Productive Lives Using Person-Centered Planning” on Sept. 14 from 12 – 1 p.m.
Presenters Nancy and Bridget Brown, a mother and daughter team, have been advocating for inclusion for over 30 years. In addition to providing an overview of person-centered planning, they will share their experiences using the process to provide direction, inspiration and successful advocacy for Bridget and many others.
Bridget will discuss her experience using person-centered planning to present at her Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, find her voice and help design her life.
Nancy will share how she discovered person-centered planning when Bridget was a very young child and how it has been key to successful advocacy and inclusion.
Nancy has worked with individuals with disabilities most of her life and specializes in inclusive education. Bridget was one of the first students fully included throughout her educational journey and is now advocating for inclusion and community-based living nationwide. Both are national inclusion educators through their Butterflies for Change organization.
