Free webinar for parents and caregivers of children with special needs

The Illinois Life Span Program of The Arc of Illinois is hosting a lunchtime webinar on “Ditch the Diapers: Toilet Training for Children With Special Needs.”

The presentation is scheduled for 12 p.m. March 30.

The presenter is Laura Brown, M.Ed., Disability Specialist at the Resource Center for Autism and Developmental Delays.

Ms. Brown has extensive experience in designing and implementing interventions and differentiating instruction to meet children’s individual needs. As a former special education teacher focusing on students with autism, she has worked in public schools and the therapeutic day school setting.

Webinar participants will learn answers to these common questions:

• How to know if my child is ready?
• What do I need to set my child up for success and how do I use visuals?
• Do I need to use a reward or motivator?
• How do I tackle common problems, such as being scared to flush, using too much toilet paper and other issues?
