Transition Fair in Freeport

Free event for high school students with disabilities and their parents to gain resources for the transition to adulthood.

The Northern Illinois Transition Planning Committee presents the 2020 Transition Fair on March 12 at Highland Community College in Freeport.

The event is for high school juniors and seniors with disabilities and their parents who want to learn more about transitioning from high school to college, employment and independent living.

The event includes speaker Tim Connors, who will share how to be empowered when transitioning from high school to college, employment and independent living.

Other event activities include:

• An introduction to Highland Community College and support services.
• An in-depth panel discussion covering big topics of transition from high school to adulthood.
• Booths from local area agencies, including the Division of Specialize Care for Children’s Rockford Regional Office.
• A complimentary pizza lunch with drinks included.
