SUMMARY:Webinar Series - "Introduction to the Illinois Assistive Technology
  Program (IATP)"
DESCRIPTION:A free four-part series providing an introduction to assistive 
 technology and augmentative and alternative communication in short\, 30-mi
 nute sessions throughout the year\n\nJoin the Illinois Assistive Technolog
 y Program (IATP) and Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center
  for this four-part series on Assistive Technology (AT) and Augmentative a
 nd Alternative Communication (AAC).\n\nThe short\, 30-minute sessions will
  introduce families and caregivers to the programs and services available 
 through IATP\, as well as the many options for AT and AAC.\n\nFMPTIC will 
 begin the series with "Introduction to the Illinois Assistive Technology P
 rogram (IATP)" on Aug. 13. Participants can choose to attend:\n\n 	The aft
 ernoon session from 12 to 12:30 p.m.\n 	The evening session from 6:30 to 7
  p.m.\n\nEvery child’s educational and communication needs are different
 . Understanding the types of AT/AAC available and how to obtain them can 
 play an important role in empowering parents advocating for their child’
 s needs within the educational setting.\n\nThis session will focus on IATP
  and the services they offer to support children and families throughout I
 llinois\, including:\n\n 	Where and how to see and try AT devices before m
 aking a purchasing decision\n 	Device training\n 	A reuse program providin
 g new and gently used equipment at no cost\n 	AT assessments and evaluatio
 ns\n 	Successful implementation of AT for community living\, education and
  employment\n 	Designing and fabricating assistive technology devices\n 	C
 osts of AT and funding resources (IATP does not provide financial loans or
  grants)\n 	Disability and aging services and organizations\n 	Other infor
 mation related to assistive technology\n\nThe session is free and open to 
 anyone who wants to learn about all that IATP offers.\n\nSee the "Introduc
