SUMMARY:I Can Du It! Adaptive Duathlon in New Lenox
DESCRIPTION:An adaptive duathlon (a modified run-bike-run race) for childre
 n and young adults ages 4 to 22 with developmental delays and disabilities
 \, their families and friends\n\nJoin BDI Playhouse Children’s Therapy a
 nd Lincolnway Special Recreation Association for the I Can Du It! Adaptive
  Duathlon on Sept. 22.\n\nThe first wave will begin at 8 a.m. Specific wav
 e start times will be available after race registration. If weather poses 
 a safety risk\, the rain date will be Sept. 29.\n\nGet ready for an epic r
 ace where participants of all abilities can join the action!\n\nChildren a
 nd young adults ages 4 to 22 with differences including cerebral palsy\, a
 utism spectrum disorder\, Down syndrome\, spina bifida\, and other disabil
 ities and delays can use their adapted bikes\, wheelchairs or two-wheelers
  to complete the course.\n\nRacers will have a volunteer buddy or parent:\
 n\n 	Cheering them on\n 	Timing and counting laps\n 	Providing assistance\
 n 	Ensuring safety\n 	Making sure they have fun\n\nIn addition to an excit
 ing race\, participants will receive:\n\n 	A t-shirt\n 	A medal for conque
 ring the course\n 	High-fives galore at the finish line\n\nOptions are als
 o available for siblings and friends to race.\n\nAll participants must bri
 ng their own wheelchairs\, walkers\, adapted bikes\, bikes with training w
 heels or other assisted devices. The event will not provide bikes on race 
 day.\n\nThe race price is $40 for the first racer and $35 for any addition
 al racer within the same family. Registration will close on Sept. 1.\n\nRe
 gister for the I Can Du It! Adaptive Duathlon on the website for BDI Playh
 ouse Children's Therapy.\n\nLincolnway Special Recreation Association will
