DESCRIPTION:A two-day grief support day camp offering a blend of age-approp
 riate\, equine and therapeutic interventions to help children navigate the
  loss of a loved one.\n\nJoin the Rockford Park District\, Perks Family Eq
 uine Center and Northern Illinois Hospice for Hearts and Hooves Children's
  Grief Support Day Camp on  Aug. 7 and 8 in Rockford.\n\nThe loss of a lo
 ved one can trigger many challenging emotions. This two-day grief support 
 camp will combine a unique blend of age-appropriate\, therapeutic interven
 tions to help children navigate these challenges.\n\nCamp will include:\n\
 n 	A safe\, supportive and engaging environment for children experiencing 
 grief\n 	Experiencing Equine Assisted Services in a non-judgmental space f
 or emotional expression and connection with horses\, known for their sensi
 tivity to human emotions\n 	Age-appropriate\, structured grief support act
 ivities to help children understand their emotions\, share their experienc
 es and develop coping skills\n\nAll campers will need to bring a water bot
 tle\, sunscreen and bug spray.\n\nParticipants must also wear close-toed a
 nd close-heeled shoes. No sandals or Crocs will be allowed.\n\nThe cost is
  $10 per child. Spots are limited. A wait list will be available once all 
 slots are filled.\n\nRegister for Hearts and Hooves and complete the parti
 cipation waiver on the Rockford Park District's website.\n\nYou can also c

 de possible\, in part\, by funding from the Winnebago County Community Men
 tal Health Board (WCCMHB) through the 1/2-cent sales tax.
