 ues to help children move from challenging behavior to ready to learn at t
 his free workshop for family members\, social workers and educators\n\nIll
 inois STAR NET Region II and  VI will host "Change the State to Educate: 
 Self-Regulation and Calming Strategies for Young Children" on June 11 from
  9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Village of Orland Park Civics Center Recreation D
 epartment. Sign in between 8:30 and 9 a.m.\n\nGrounded in Dr. Angela Searc
 y’s Push Past It! framework\, this session will focus on “change the s
 tate to educate” by identifying Amy G. (the amygdala) in action. It uses
  the lens of "Change You\, Change the Child\, Change the Consequences" to 
 analyze adult responses that escalate or de-escalate challenging behavior.
 \n\nParticipants will learn practical co-regulation and calming strategies
  to:\n\n 	Recognize how stress responses affect behavior and learning\n 	R
 educe escalation\n 	Strengthen adult responses\n 	Create brain-ready class
 rooms and learning environments for young children\n\nThere will be a shor
 t\, 30-minute lunch break. Please plan to bring your lunch.\n\nSpecial and
  general educators\, family members\, paraprofessionals\, social workers a
 nd others working with or caring for children with challenging behavior ar
