DESCRIPTION:A free overnight camp for children ages 10 to 16 with Type 1 di
 abetes\n\nCamp BETA will be on Sept. 7 - 8. Campers will arrive at 9 a.m. 
 on Sept. 7 and leave on Sept. 8 at 2 p.m.\n\nThe camp is at Southern Illin
 ois University Touch of Nature Environmental Center\,  1206 Touch of Natu
 re Rd.\, in Makanda.\n\nCamp Beta is a free overnight camp for youth ages 
 10 to 16 with Type 1 diabetes. Opportunities are also available for counse
 lors-in-training for youth ages 16 to 17 with diabetes.\n\nCampers will bu
 ild confidence\, make new friends and enjoy:\n\n 	Hiking and orienteering\
 n 	Boating\n 	Arts and crafts\n 	Archery\n 	Horseback riding\n 	Climbing w
 all\n\nThe camp is made possible by a collaboration of Southern Illinois H
 ealthcare\, the Diabetes Today Resource Team\, the SIU Touch of Nature Env
 ironmental Center\, the SIU Dietetic Internship program\, and many area vo
