SUMMARY:Adaptive "Sports for Kids" Day Camp in Chicago for Youth With a Phy
 sical Impairment
DESCRIPTION:Free day camp for youth ages 6 to 21 with physical impairments\
 n\nJoin the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago for the "Adaptive Sports fo
 r Kids Summer Camp" from June 8-12. The day camp will run Monday through F
 riday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.\n\nThis program is for youth ages 6 to 21 w
 ith a primary physical impairment and who are independent in their daily l
 iving skills.\n\nThe camp focuses on building a positive quality of life a
 mong youth with physical disabilities and will promote:\n\n 	Physical fitn
 ess\n 	Independence\n 	Socialization and making friends\n 	Activity and ad
 aptive programming resources.\n\nCampers will explore outdoor and indoor a
 daptive sports\, including:\n\n 	Sled hockey\n 	Wheelchair softball and fo
 otball\n 	Pickleball\n 	Cycling\n 	Archery\n\nCampers will also enjoy a fu
 n-filled day at the beach.\n\nCamp activities will occur at locations thro
 ughout Chicago.\n\nParticipants must be between 6 and 21 years old and be 
 able to eat and go to the restroom independently. If a child is not indepe
 ndent\, the camp asks families to provide an aide or caregiver of adult ag
 e to provide direct assistance to the child.\n\nCamp is free and includes 
 lunch. Please note any dietary restrictions or safety issues on the regist
 ration form. Camp-goers may bring their own lunch if they choose. The camp
  will als provide snacks and beverages at certain programs.\n\n\nThe camp 
 will start accepting applicants on April 1\, 2026.\n\nRegistration is not 
 the same as enrollment. Enrollment in summer camp is not guaranteed. All p
 rograms enroll on a first-come\, first-served basis. The program specialis
