SUMMARY:21st Annual Illinois Statewide Transition Conference in Lisle
DESCRIPTION:The "Stepping Stones of Transition" conference shares services 
 and resources to prepare youth and young adults with special healthcare ne
 eds and other disabilities for success in adulthood.\nThe 2026 Illinois St
 atewide Transition Conference\, titled "Stepping Stones of Transition\," w
 ill take place in person on Nov. 5-6. The conference is at the Sheraton Li
 sle Naperville Hotel\, 3000 Warrenville Road\, in Lisle. \nIt will highli
 ght the opportunities and resources available for youth and young adults w
 ith disabilities as they transition to adulthood.\n"Stepping Stones of Tra
 nsition" is for youth\, parents\, caregivers\, vocational professionals\, 
 healthcare professionals\, educators and others who work with youth and yo
 ung adults with disabilities. Youth will learn how to plan for their futur
 e\, including:\n\nWhat happens after I leave high school?\nHow do I sort t
 hrough the maze of resources?\nWhat steps can I take now to prepare for up
 coming changes?\nWhat skills are important for me to develop?\n\nParticipa
 nts can choose to attend sessions on topics including:\n\nSelf-advocacy\nE
 mployment\nFuture and financial planning\nPost-secondary education\nHealth
  care\n\nThe conference will also feature professional magician and autist
 ic self-advocate Cody Clark who will lead an interactive session that comb
 ines magic\, storytelling and real-life experiences to teach simple strate
 gies for handling challenges and building resilience.\nSee the conference

 are for Children (DSCC) helps sponsor the conference and serves on its ste
 ering committee.\nDSCC may be able to fund the conference-related expenses
  for DSCC participants and their families\, caregivers\, nurses and/or per
 sonal attendants. These expenses include the cost of the hotel and transpo
 rtation.\nRegistration and information for DSCC participants \n\n\nTo sig
