2021 Homeowner Assistance Fund

Illinois homeowners who have fallen behind on payments due to the pandemic can soon seek support from a new homeowner assistance program provided by the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA).

IHDA will offer the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) in fall 2021. The program will offer up to $25,000 in assistance to approved applicants.

The fund is a new program designed to prevent mortgage delinquencies and defaults, foreclosures, loss of utilities or home energy services and displacement of homeowners experiencing financial hardship after Jan. 21, 2020.

Applications are expected to be available in fall 2021.
