Supper Social in Springfield

A social event for children with disabilities ages 5 to 21

This April “social club” event is an opportunity for children with disabilities to cultivate friendships, foster peer relationships and work to develop and support social skills. It is sponsored by Springfield Public Schools, UCP Land of Lincoln, The Autism Clinic (TAC) and the Springfield Park District.

Children will participate in a social skills lesson, eat dinner with peers and a volunteer or staff member, play games and enjoy social time. Staff and volunteers will help facilitate conversation and provide social skill support.

Parents will dine together and later hear from a variety of agencies and resources in the area.

Chick-fil-A in Springfield is donating dinner. Families are welcome to provide their own meal if allergies or sensory issues are a concern.

The deadline to register is April 3. The event is limited to the first 25 children registered.
