Learn how to support those affected by autism spectrum disorder at this free event.

The Rockford Regional Health Council and The Autism Program of Easterseals is hosting this regional engagement initiative on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) on May 16 at the Discovery Center Museum. The event will focus on, “How can we support those impacted by autism spectrum disorder within our communities?”

The discussion aims to:

  • Facilitate conversation among a diverse group of community stakeholders.
  • Increase awareness and knowledge of key issues surrounding ASD.
  • Identify the most important services needed by families affected by ASD.
  • Identify barriers faced by families when accessing those services; consider ways to mitigate those barriers.

The event will include a brief opening presentation, followed by small group discussions of a variety of key questions.
